The cost-effective deployment of floating offshore wind turbines is faced with a multitude of technical challenges. Several key areas of the life-cycle of floating offshore wind turbines have been discussed within this work. The key challenges and potential solutions have been presented, with state-of-the-art literature summarised to enable further work to build off. It is concluded that all areas of the use of this technology requires further maturing to de-risk this technology to entice wide-spread commercial use. | en_US |
